Spin 'n' Fox is a shared workshop based in Budapest's 13th district, bringing together textile artists dedicated to traditional techniques and contemporary craftsmanship. Our work is rooted in Hungarian textile traditions, with a strong emphasis on functionality, precision, and long-term usability.

The workshop is home to five makers, primarily working with textile-based practices.
Zsófia Szarka weaves kitchen textiles, scarves, and shawls from pure cotton and wool, and also creates knitted and crocheted garments and accessories.
Folk artist Sára Bozzay focuses mainly on band weaving, producing jewelry and belts.
Orsolya Telekesné Szerényi works with band weaving and the sprang technique.
Our work is supported by Erika Andrási, an MMA scholarship holder, art historian, and museum educator, whose art-theoretical perspective helps guide the workshop along the principle of "pure source."

One of the founding members of Spin 'n' Fox is Borbála Kocsis-Pintér, a pedagogue, carpet weaver, and traditional weaving tool maker. She has been working with weaving since 2018 and completed her studies at the Hungarian Heritage House, where she became deeply engaged with the diverse textile culture of the Hungarian language area—from functional everyday textiles to complex painted weavings.

Alongside teaching, Borbála focuses on weaving and on researching, recreating, and developing traditional weaving and spinning tools. In 2024, she was awarded a scholarship by the Hungarian Academy of Arts (MMA). Through hands-on experimentation, she examines the functional qualities of traditional tools with the aim of creating durable, precise, and accessible weaving and spinning equipment that supports both learning and creative practice.

At Spin 'n' Fox, making, learning, and teaching are closely interconnected. The workshop serves as a space for shared knowledge, experimentation, and the contemporary continuation of Hungarian textile traditions.
